Baby C

My husband always teases me when I say something is my favorite because he says everything is my favorite, which is true. I have at least 20 favorite songs. :) When I told him I had new favorite clients, he just laughed and said "You say that about all of your clients!" He does have a point. I do love them all but Courtney and Travis hold a special place in my heart. I just loved them from the moment I met them. They were so fun, easygoing, and just great people to be around. (I should of known since they are related to the Wight family, who I also just adore!) They are expecting their first baby. I commend them for being surprised on the sex of the baby. Not only does that take serious will power but how exciting will that be when Baby C arrives?!

Courtney and Travis choose to take their pictures where Travis proposed. We were worried the June gloom was going to ruin our shoot but we lucked out and it turned out to be a gorgeous afternoon. Baby C is due on the fourth of July. I'm crossing my fingers that Baby C decides to give mom a break and arrive a little early. :) As amazing as Courtney looks for being pregnant, she wouldn't mind the early arrival. :) A huge thank you to Courtney and Travis for being so awesome and Travis was such a great sport for putting up with Courtney and I telling him what to do the whole time! You can tell he is such a great husband!!

The Shaw Family

The Shaw family holds a special place in my heart. We always have so much fun every time we get together and its been so awesome to watch Cooper and Mason get so big! The Shaw family picked one of my favorite places in Laguna to do their pictures. I was a little nervous with the heavy fog that hung around all morning but luckly it cleared up just in time.

Like myself, The Shaw family are huge animal lovers. They always bring their pups for family photos and I just adore that! Here are my favorite pictures from our shoot:

The Wight Family!

The best thing about photographing a family over and over is watching the kids get older and the family growing. The last time I saw the Wight family they were expecting baby #2! This time I finally got to meet the handsome little guy! I also got the pleasure of meeting the whole family. They all we such nice and loving people! I had such a great time and I got to debut my new baby, my 5D Mark II. :)

new camera, big things, same model!

This week my husband gave me the greatest gift of all, my dream camera! I am finally the proud owner of a Canon 5D Mark II! I have drooled over this camera for over a year now! I can't remember ever wanting something so bad. I got butterflies every time I would go look at it and hold it. The day we went to pick it up I could hardly eat. My palms were sweating when we walked into Samy's Camera. Is this normal? :) I just knew what great things this camera had in store for me. The possibilities are endless. I have so many big plans for this camera and I. I can hardly contain myself! With that said, I can't put the thing down since I got it. It's such an upgrade from my last camera. All week I have been taking pictures of my favorite model, my pup. He is my baby. With my husband traveling each week its nice to always come home to a pup who is dying to see you. He keeps me company on what would be lonely nights. He loves to snuggle with me and his sad pup face always brings a smile to my face, no matter how bad my day is. He isn't as excited as I am about the new camera because he is officially over being the model. I'm sorry Winston but I can never have too many Winnie pictures. :)

Here are a few pictures I took this week while testing some new settings and adjusting to my new love, my camera. Thank you to my favorite model, Mr. Winston Wiggins and a big thank you to my husband. I've said this before, but the greatest feeling ever is when your significant other believes in you more than you believe in yourself. I am truly blessed to have married my best friend who is so supportive and never questions my goals. For that, I thank you babe!

Enjoy!

I caught Winston yawning but doesn't he look like he just saw a ghost? :) He is such a silly dog.

I am so excited for what lies ahead for Andrea Gene Photography! Keep checking back for updates!

Senior Session

This was my first senior session. I was so excited because I knew how excited Baylee was for her session and her mom was even more excited! I had picked up a new chair at the flea market that I was trilled to debut and some other props that I thought would be great for this shoot. It was a perfect day in Laguna and I couldn't ask for a better client. Congrats Baylee on your graduation! Here are a few of my favorites:

Easter is here!

I was so excited when I got an email from my client Jess wanting to do an Easter shoot with her little girls. I had a lot of fun props I wanted to try out and I knew that Jess and the girls wouldn't mind. When I first met Lauren and Brooke over a year and half ago they were pretty shy. It always took a little while for them to warm up to me. This time was completely different. I got smiles the whole shoot. This photoshoot reminded me how great it is to have a big sis. I have an older sister that I love and admire. I couldn't imagine life without her. Brooke and Lauren are two of the sweetest things. I just love those precious little faces!
